Flight Instruction

We provide airplane flight instruction from Private pilot through Commercial Pilot and Instrument ratings up to and including Certificated Flight Instructor and Instrument Instructor.

We operate with four Piper Warriors within our fleet. Two 1973 models, a 1974 model, and a 1980 year model, a staple airplane in the flight training community. We also offer a 1974 Piper Arrow II (a complex aircraft with retractable landing gear) for rent in a flying club or on a single rental basis. We also offer a 10 hour complex course in this aircraft. Contact us for information. A typical flight lesson is scheduled in a 2 hour block. Approximately 30 minutes of ground instruction followed by a 1.3 hour flight training session, ending with a 30 minute post flight debrief and assignment for the next lesson.

We also offer instruction in your own plane!

Private Pilot Training Program

14CFR61.109 Outlines the requirements for a private pilot certificate. In short, the FAA requires 40 total airplane hours for a license. 20 of those hours need to be dual instruction (pilot and instructor), 10 of those hours are solo (pilot alone), and the last 10 can be a mixture of both. Current national average as of 2022 to obtain a private license is between 55 and 60 hours. At some point during your training you will need to take an FAA written exam, then upon completion of your training you will take a practical exam with a Designated Pilot Examiner to receive your certificate.

Our instructors will train you to the FAA standard and completely prepare you for both your written and practical exams. If that standard only takes you the minimum of 20 dual instruction hours, then that’s all you will get. We are not here to syphon money out of your pocket, we are here to produce safe, quality pilots. We accomplish that with an organized and efficient training program.

Discovery Flights

If you think you’d like to become a pilot but have never been in an airplane before, or maybe you just haven’t ever flown in a small plane, or you’re just not sure… then book a discovery flight with us!

Your discovery flight will consist of an hour block with our instructor. We will go over our program with you and outline the process and cost of getting your pilots license. Then our instructor will take you for an introductory flight lesson, which lasts about 30 minutes. We will demonstrate the capabilities of our airplane then hand the controls over to you! We will guide you through what your very first lesson will look like. This will allow you to see and feel what piloting a small airplane is all about. And YES, this is time you can log in your pilot’s logbook. Click HERE and fill out our discovery flight form and we will call you within 24 hours to get you scheduled!
